Initial Visit with Dr. Michelle

Going to the Chiropractor is a new experience for many of us. Maybe you've heard through a friend or have done some research online. It's possible that you are just fed up with living in pain and it's time to do something about it. In either case, your first visit to the chiropractor will really be about getting to know the chiropractor and discussing your history, current condition and goals.

As with any doctor's visit, you'll start by finishing some new patient paperwork. Upon meeting with the doctor, you'll discuss your concerns and expectations as well as have the chance to ask any questions you may have. We will perform a physical examination to see what you current state is.  Once this is complete, we'll take a look at the overall results of our conversation and the exams. Together, we'll come up with a plan of action which will begin when you are completely satisfied and ready to move forward.

Brief Paperwork There will be brief paperwork for you to fill out. It provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.
(Free) Consultation Once the proper office documents have been filled out, Dr. Michelle will discuss any health-related issues, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.
History and Examination In order to determine the problem, Dr. Michelle will ask you a number of questions related to your present ailments more in-depth. An examination consisting of postural, musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and a brief neurological exam will be conducted to determine if any subluxations exist. We recommend you bring any diagnostic reports such as X-rays, MRI’s, or records of any prescription drugs currently being taken.
Same Day Adjustment You will never receive an adjustment without having a discussion with Dr. Michelle first. Patients will generally be provided with their first adjustment during this same visit unless discussed otherwise. This part of the care may include spinal adjustments, traction, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue therapies.
Home Instructions Prior to leaving, you will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include thermal application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

The initial visit process can take up to 1 hour depending on your exam findings and severity of the condition. Follow up visits are usually 30 minutes.
