Massage Therapy Services

Let the massage therapists at L.A. Harbor Health Group enhance your well-being with these services. A massage can help relieve muscular tension, improve range of motion, increase blood flow, and bring about deep relaxation.

Most massage treatments are 1 hour or more. 30-minute appointments are also available. Your massage therapist will work with you to find the right treatment for you!

Swedish massage uses different types of manipulation (such as stroking, kneading, friction and stretching) used to simultaneously energize and relax the body.

Deep tissue massage uses firm pressure to affect underlying layers of muscle to relieve chronic pain and tension.

Therapeutic massage is used to promote the body's natural healing response and reduce stress.

Circulatory massage is ideal for individuals (such as diabetics, seniors, or those recovering from injuries) who cannot tolerate pressure on soft tissues. A circulatory massage aims to enhance the movement of fluids (blood and lymph) through the body.

Neuro-muscular re-education helps you to identify and then break patterns that lead to muscle tension. If you find yourself with constantly tight muscles (perhaps in the shoulder area, or in the low back), your massage therapist can help you re-educate your nervous and muscular systems to increase your range of motion.

Pregnancy massage allows the body to find its form. This therapy allows the body to find its form and get in touch with what that beautiful round belly holds-a new life, a new soul, a pure being. Your massage therapist will enhance your comfort by using special cushions to support the body during the massage.

CranioSacral therapy is a gentle method of enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system (the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord). Using a light touch, your therapist will release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system and complement the body's natural healing processes. CranioSacral therapy is performed while the client is fully clothed.

Aromatherapy is a natural healing method that is used to treat and balance the body, mind and soul. Aromatherapy can be added to any massage therapy session. Your massage therapist will work with you to identify essential oils to enhance energy, relaxation, or bliss!

Aromatherapy for Pregnancy is very useful and beneficial to pregnant women. These natural remedies can help expectant mother's focus on maintaining a healthy state-of-mind, and can ease many of the discomforts, stresses and ailments that are associated with pregnancy.

The following are some beneficial Aromatherapy for pregnant women*:

  • Bergmanot - Helpful for Cystitis
  • Cypress (after 5 months) - Helps swollen ankles and veins
  • Eucalyptus - Helps respiratory congestion
  • Chamomile - Provides relief from pain, headaches and indigestion
  • Geranium - Enhances circulation
  • Mandarin - Eases fluid retention in joints and ankles
  • Rosewood - Good antiseptic
  • Tea Tree - Helps treat thrush
  • Ylang Ylang - Relieves stress and tension

* Always consult with your healthcare provider before any use of Aromatherapy products and techniques.

Sabai herbal balls can be added to any massage therapy session. Filled with a blend of scented herbs, the fabric balls are gently rubbed on the skin to enhance the experience of relaxation and wellness.

Paraffin wax with hot towels is just the treat for tired hands! Your massage therapist will dip your hands into warm liquid wax, and then wrap your hands in hot towels to allow the heat to penetrate deeply. After a few minutes, your therapist will peel the wax away (it's painless!). Your skin will feel smooth and the muscles and joints in your hands will feel refreshed. This is a perfect add-on to any massage therapy service.

The ionic spa foot bath may be used to start or complement a detox program. The water in the foot bath is charged with negative ions. This ionized water is absorbed by the body during the foot bath, assisting with the body's natural detoxification process while also providing a soothing experience.

All L.A. Harbor Health Group's massage therapists are certified and licensed.
